I think I just noticed the first signs of age spots on the back of my hand. Yuck. Maybe by saying, "yucky", it will somehow reverse the aging.

Last Friday we broke out the big screen and digital projector again and started playing movies in the backyard.

Friday night started with Revenge of the Sith for the kids.

Saturday night I had a couple of friends over and a couple of strangers from the Classic Horror Film Board, Doctor 1313 and Modpro. My pal Jon Fedele played some piano before we started -- Godzilla's march, the Monster Zero theme, some El Cid and other epics. My pal TRS added to the festive atmosphere. We had some candy, popcorn, soda, beer. The movie of the night, Rabid, honored the recently deceased Marilyn Chambers. Also popped in a short "The Genie" with Forest J. Ackerman to remember him. Good times were had all around.

Sunday night we watched the 2003 Peter Pan, a pretty good movie.

Monday night, Princess Bride. Classic.

Tuesday night, The Spiderwick Chronicles. Fun movie!

Starting again tonight, what will it be? I'm thinking of the silent Lost World...but who knows by the time we begin.

Backyard landscaping is going slowly. There are sprinklers now and the beginnings of grass, stepping stones and some solar lights. A rock garden is in progress too.

This morning's blast-email from Will the Thrill brought sad news of the passing of west coast horror host Bob Wilkins. That was bad enough. Wilkins was the host of the Sacramento area Creature Features and also a kid's show character, Captain Cosmic. His brittle-dry sense of humor and affable nature was enjoyed by many in the bay area.

But to just read on the Classic Horror Film Board about Ray Dennis Steckler dying is a heavy blow. Steckler's achievements and history is an interesting one and I'll have to write something proper to memorialize him. Too bad.

This morning I found out that Johnny Legend and his sister Lynne Margulies formed a DVD label -- Legend House. Nifty web site.

I like Johnny and Lynnie Legend. :) They've got some Tod Slaughter double-features and I've been wanting to see some of those so I'll probably throw some money in that direction. I just ordered the Andy Kaufman "I'm From Hollywood" Special Edition today. I'd been meaning to get that, and looking closer I saw that the extras include Andy's beloved hate mail from angry female fans. Something to look forward to.
